The craft brewing industry is growing rapidly, especially in Texas, and now aspiring beer brewers and brewers who want to refine their technical skills can get the training they need at Eastfield College.

Eastfield’s new Journeyman Brewer Certificate covers 177 hours of brewing technology and practical experience with industry equipment. Students will have a working knowledge of various equipment used within the brewing industry and develop an understanding of brewing practices used in a variety of brewery settings.

Master Brewer and Eastfield Journeyman Brewer instructor, Peter Boettcher, holds a degree in Brewing Science and is a state certified trainer of brewers from the Doemens World Brewing Academy. With 30 years of brewing experience, Peter says this high-impact, straightforward class will cover the entire brewing process.

“What is unique about the Journeyman Brewers program is that it is tailored to the brewers and operators working in the industry. It is based on the dual system where you combine theoretical knowledge with the practical working experience. This course is also ideal for passionate home-brewers who seek to get their foot in the door of the professional brewing industry, and at the same time it remains relevant to current brewery personnel.”

With support from a growing list of local breweries such as Grapevine Craft Brewery, Rahr & Sons Brewing, Shannon Brewing, Martin House Brewing, Rabbit Hole Brewing, Texas Ale Brewing and Lakewood Brewing, this certificate program provides students a sound foundation to continue on with a successful brewing career or become a highly qualified applicant in the brewing industry.

Classes begin June 22, for more info call 972-860-7102 or visit http://bit.ly/EFC-Brewery.
