Dallas man dies after unexplained cries for help

dallas policeThe Dallas Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls on Wednesday, Aug. 5 reporting a male rolling around on the ground, removing his clothing, and yelling “help me” at the intersection of Peavy Road and Carnegie Drive.

Two Dallas Fire Department Paramedics and four Dallas Police Officers responded and located the male sitting on the curb at 1700 Peavy Road. The Paramedics and the Police Officers contacted the male and began to render assistance. The male was handcuffed for everyone’s safety. The male soon exhibited indications of medical distress. Dallas paramedics administered CPR and transported him to Doctor’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

An independent witness, who lives nearby, observed the incident and reported to detectives that the actions taken by the public safety personnel were efforts to aid the male. Notification of the next of kin is pending.
