(The Wrap) – The film takes place decades after the events of “Independence Day.” Humans have adapted alien technology to create a new global defense system in the event that the aliens should return. But when they do return, nothing can prepare humanity for the fight that will ensure.
Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, and Judd Hirsch will all reprise their roles from the original film. Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, and Joey King will also star.
