In cooperation with the El Centro College Center for Allied Health and Nursing, the Dental Hygiene Program, located at 1250 W. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, is now enrolling for spring.
Graduates of our program are eligible to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) and a regional clinical board in order to apply for licensure by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners to become a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
The program includes a 68 credit hour curriculum leading to an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree and is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Acceptance to the Dental Hygiene program is via a competitive selection process based primarily on grade point average on prerequisite courses and subsequent tiebreakers.
According to Bureau of Labor statistics, the median annual wage for dental hygienists was $72,330 in May 2015. Employment of dental hygienists is projected to grow 19 percent from 2014 to 2024.
