Companies are still hiring during the coronavirus

Professionals who are currently in a job search should continue to apply and network online throughout the Coronavirus crises, says Sandie Troup, Career Coach and Executive Recruiter with over 30 years of experience in the field.

Sandie encourages candidates to keep looking for jobs because employers are still hiring at the same fast pace, including the markets that look uncertain right now such as financial, hospitality, construction, and retail. While safety precautions are being taken and quarantine provisions respected, many employers have eliminated the in-person portion of the interview process and chose to do webcam interviews instead.

Sandie also highlights that emergencies such as Coronavirus bring employees a good opportunity to reflect on their career paths and evaluate if their current jobs are recession-resilient.

“Employers are still willing to pay top dollar and hiring bonuses right now, so candidates should take advantage of this while it is happening”.
