Students explore history in district competition

Students from 16 Dallas ISD schools who explored the theme “Turning Points in History: People, Ideas and Events” in 64 projects during the recent Dallas ISD History Day competition will be advancing to regionals.

More than 300 students from 21 district schools competed at district level at Hector P. Garcia Middle with documentaries, Web sites, displays and theatrical presentations about history topics as varied as the Freeman’s Bureau to the English Civil War to the Bay of Pigs Invasion. The Dallas Area Regional History Day will take place on Feb. 16 in Richardson.
