Eddie Murphy was born in Brooklyn on Apr. 3, 1961. He began doing stand-up comedy as a teenager and later joined the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live. At age 21 he co-starred with Nick Nolte in 48 Hours and went on to further box office success with Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop. He continues to star in many movies, including comedies, dramas, and family films.
