Los Angeles DA charges T.I.’s wife following ecstasy arrest

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, wife of rapper T.I. and former singer with the R & B group Xscape, was charged Friday with possession of ecstasy by the Los Angeles County district attorney, according to TMZ. The charge stems from the couple’s arrest last month in Los Angeles.

TMZ reported the DA will not file charges against T.I., aka Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. The “American Gangster” and “Takers” star spent most of 2009 in prison for a weapons charge in Georgia. At the time of his arrest, he was on probation. Since he violated his probation, T.I. is expected to serve additional time starting next month.

If convicted, Cottle could face one year in prison. She is expected to be arraigned Monday.
