Computer glitch results in premature release of 22 criminal suspects

Open Jail Dallas police reported that a computer glitch resulted in the premature release of 22 criminal suspects from county jail.

The police department’s new records management system was purchased from Denali Solutions four years ago. Denali Solutions later was bought out by Intergraph. The new system is programmed to have case files in one database and allow for efficient electronic transfers to prosecutors. The system went live June 1, 2014.

Many of the people on the listed are suspected of committing felonies. One man allegedly choked a woman until she passed out and drove her car into oncoming traffic.

At a recent city audit, Chief Brown stated that system glitches are expected when you are switching over a decades-old-system. Officials have stated that the system issues are improving as police officers become accustomed with the new system.

The Dallas police department has released the names of 22 criminal suspects released from jail. Here are the names:
