Dallas Opera hosting auditions to find six dancers for holiday performances

The Dallas Opera has announced an opportunity for talented dancers with acrobatic skills, to take part in the world premiere of Becoming Santa Claus. The holiday program kicks off on Friday, Dec. 4.

The Dallas Opera is seeking a wide range of candidates with a good level of training in dance and theater. Performers with experience in ballet, jazz, other dance categories or acrobatics, will be considered. The audition will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Karayanis Rehearsal Production Center, 4301 S. Fitzhugh in Dallas.

Becoming Santa Claus will be directed and choreographed by Paul Curran. Rehearsals begin on November 2, 2015 culminating in four performances on Dec. 6, 9 and 12 in the Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

The performers will be compensated for rehearsal time, as well as a per-performance fee.
