Reports police officers shot after protests in Dallas

crime sceneMultiple news outlets are reporting the possibility a Dallas police officer was shot after protests ended near Downtown Dallas. The police have confirmed they were responding to shots but no confirmation yet on if anyone was hurt or any police injuries.

According to WFAA, at least one police officer has been shot and the shooter is rumored to be using a rifle. Other outlets are reporting a second officer was shot. No word on anyone’s condition.

The protesters earlier chanted, “Enough is enough,” in reference to the shooting of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge and in Philando Castile in Minnesota.

According to protesters via Facebook, shots rang out and the police instructed the crowd to run and many ended up in the Omni Hotel.
