Armstrong is from New Orleans, Lousiana and was skilled with the cornet instrument. Louis played for Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band in Chicago in 1922 and in 1924 he married pianoist Lillian Hardin. He recorded great songs throughout the years with various bands and remained on the road for some time and toured across country.
