The City of Frisco’s Environmental Services Division has a great opportunity to help you clear out the clutter before the new school year starts. The next Chunk Your Junk event will be held on Saturday, August 11 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Frisco residents can recycle, donate, or safely throw away unwanted items.
Chunk Your Junk is held at the Environmental Collection Center, located at 6616 Walnut St. Entry is from southbound 1st Street only. All other entries to the facility will be closed… view map. The line will close to vehicles at 11:30 a.m. to allow all those already waiting to be serviced by the time the event ends at noon. Commercial accounts are not accepted. Only residents with a City of Frisco utility billing account, may dispose of household hazardous waste items, computer monitors, televisions or refrigerators. Both a valid driver’s license showing your current Frisco address and a current Frisco water bill are required to dispose of all household chemical, paint, electronic waste, and items needing Freon extraction.
All applicable fees will be billed directly to your Frisco utility billing account. A $40 Freon extraction fee will be charged for all appliances not tagged Freon-free. There is a $10 fee to dispose of computer monitors and a $15 fee for television sets.
The following items can be brought for safe disposal, recycling, or donation during Chunk Your Junk. To reduce idling time, the items are listed in the order which they can be unloaded at the event. Please load your vehicle accordingly.
- Documents for shredding;
- (Four-box limit per household, box size not to exceed 12”W x 15.5”L x 10.5”H)
- Metal and appliances;
- Yard waste, limbs, and untreated wood for mulching;
- Items for trash;
- Fencing;
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications;
- Bundled cardboard;
- Styrofoam and plastic bags;
- Computers, printers, cell phones, television sets, and other e-waste;
- Household chemicals;
- Pesticides and herbicides;
- Paint, gasoline, oil;
- Batteries
- Old clothes, furniture, books, etc. for donation.
