According to former Chicago Cubs great Sammy Sosa, he does not have any skin disease. He claims a cosmetic cream he utilizes to soften his skin is why his skin tone is noticeably lighter.

The Internet has been a buzz after Sosa was photographed at the the Latin Grammy awards in Las Vegas last week. Many are speculating if he has the same skin disorder the late Michael Jackson claimed caused his dramatic change in skin tone.

Appearing on the Univison Spanish Network Sosa said he has used the skin cream for a long time. He did not provide the name of the product. He alleges the bright TV and photography flashes are causing him to appear whiter than he actually is.

Sosa will celebrate his 41st birthday on Thursday November 12. During his 18 year baseball career he hit 609 homers while playing with the Cubs, White Sox, Rangers and Orioles. He has not played in the majors since 2007.
