Cedar Hill High School quarterback Driphus Jackson will soon have something in common with Adrian Peterson, Tim Tebow, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez and DeSean Jackson. The above-mentioned NFL players all took part in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Cedar Hill quarterback Driphus Jackson will play in the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 8, 2011, in the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Jackson, who has committed to play collegiate ball at Rice in Houston in fall 2011, scored a spot on the prestigious bowl game Dec. 17 in

the final episode of MTV2’s The Ride. The show followed eight under-the-radar high school quarterbacks fighting for a spot on the bowl team and a chance at a Division 1 scholarship. Viewers got to see the grueling process the athletes went through as they were scrutinized by top coaches in the nation.

The senior will play on the west team in the annual bowl game slated for noon Jan. 8, 2011, at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game, which was launched in 2001, will be broadcast on NBC.

The senior standout racked up 2,900 yards passing, 500 yards rushing, 29 passing touchdowns and two rushing TDs this season with the Longhorns.
