Gazette Gossip: They got nuttin’ on Weezy

By Tonya Whitaker
NDG Staff Writer

It seems that Lil Wayne has learned from his time behind bars, unlike another rapper (uh-hum T.I.). According to StraightfromtheA.com, when Weezy exited his private jet at the Opa-Locka Executive Airport in Miami, he was greeted by multiple agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). A search was conducted; the rapper was free to go after the DEA found no reason to detain Wayne. As y’all know, Wayne is currently on felony probation stemming from weapons and drug charges. If you stay clean like you supposed to while you are on probation, even those who think you are doing wrong will have no other choice but to leave you alone.

Blacker than black Beyonce
Last week on Facebook, we posted a story about Beyonce posing in blackface on the cover of French fashion magazine L’Officiel Paris to pay tribute to Nigerian musician and human rights activist Fela Kuti. I don’t buy it. The staff for L’Officiel Paris thought they would not offend black folk by allowing a black person to go in blackface. Wrong. That makes matters worse. This nation already has a problem of bias toward light-skinned black people (the group Beyonce belongs to) being “superior” to darker-skinned blacks. Plus, “borrowing” a racist stereotype as a tribute to a Nigerian person is idiotic.

Nasty gal
I am not the biggest fan of Rihanna, and neither is Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. He recently said the music she performs is “filthy” and those who listen to her are “swine.” BTW, Rihanna and Ciara are in the midst of Twitter war because of comments Ciara made about Rih-Rih’s latest choices of fashion E!’s Fashion Police, hosted by Joan “Rubberband Ma’am” Rivers.
