Gazette Gossip: Court battle not about Coleman’s ashes

By Tonya Whitaker
NDG Staff Writer

Strange is all I can say. Shannon Price, ex-wife of the late Gary Coleman, wants to wear the deceased Diff’rent Strokes star around her neck. Nine months after Coleman’s death, Price is still in a court battle with his former business manager and girlfriend Anna Gray, benefactor of his 2005 will. It is a darn shame that she won’t let it go and allow Coleman to rest in peace. Price held a birthday party for Coleman on Feb. 8, what would have been his 43rd birthday. I guess that was done convince the public that she really cared for Coleman. The same tumultuous life Coleman led won’t escape him in death. Sadly, Coleman’s ashes are in limbo, only because a nutcase wants to keep him close to her heart. Please! She wants Coleman nearby alright; she wants the Benjamins.

You gotta love Erykah
No matter what nonsense people write about Dallas’ Erykah Badu and her personal life, no one can deny the girl’s talent. The Internet was abuzz last week praising Badu’s performance during the South by SouthWest (SXSW) music festival in Austin. Last weekend during the Wu-Tang All-Night Show, she showed the crowd that she is one bad DJ. Check out Badu’s mad skills on our Facebook page.

Simon and Paula reunion?
Simon Cowell is still on the search for a stellar judge panel for his new talent show, X-Factor. Music producer LA Reid is already a confirmed judge, but the other slots are still a mystery. Young, Black and Famous.com is reporting that the “Black Barbie” Nicki Minaj, Jessica Simpson, Paula Abdul and Tommy Mottola are candidates – yes Paula Abdul. Now that the CBS has pulled the plug on her dance show, she is on the hunt for a “new” gig. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see Simon and Paula back together on television? BTW, X-Factor tryouts will be held in Dallas on May 26.
