Is Irving ISD Superintendent’s job on the line?

Irving ISD Supt. Bedden

Irving ISD to discuss the “The Superintendent’s conduct during the 2011 school board election process.”   At the request of School Board Trustees Gail Condor Wells and newly elected Stephen Jones, this topic was added to Monday night’s agenda. There are rumblings perhaps the Superintendent is facing choppy waters. Concerned citizens are invited to come out and learn more Monday night at 7 p.m.

Also, on the agenda is a request to not push for 50 percent English and 50 percent Spanish classroom instruction for the children who need to learn English as a second language. Trustee Jones ran his campaign promising to pushback on this initiative and appears to be wasting no time in moving forward. Do you agree with him?

  1. Isn’t the newly elected school board member’s background in theater? Shouldn’t he try and learn something before he tries to pull a reverse on the most successful program for success in learning English out there, dual language? IS he interested in facts? He only won by 50 votes out of more than 8,000 cast. 50 votes? Is this his ‘mandate’?
