Imaj Multi-talented artist and singer set to perform at TBAAL

Bringing in 2012 with two concerts, local rising star, Imaj is performing at The Black Academy of Arts & Letters on January 27 and 28. The busy artist also has a concert scheduled at The House of Blues on February 25.

Imaj is a singer/songwriter, visual artist and novelist from Miami Beach, Florida, now residing in Texas. Imaj was literally raised in the industry and is world travelled as a set/studio baby. Her father is Philip Michael Thomas better known as Tubbs on the popular TV show Miami Vice.

Although Imaj’s first love in music is country, her shows feature several genres including pop, opera and soul. She even sings in several languages including Spanish, Japanese, Italian and German.

A talented young trailblazing African-American country singer, Imaj has even received compliments from the legendary Charley Pride. She also has opened for legends like Collin Raye, Lorrie Morgan and Gretchen Wilson. Recently, she performed at a charity gala, which featured CNN’s Soledad O’Brien as the keynote speaker. She was also interviewed on ESPN’s 103.3 FM by Dallas Cowboy linebacker, Bradie James.

Imaj writes her own music, and has published a novel of literary fiction called, HARLOW. If that was not enough demonstration of talent, Imaj’s art was displayed at the Dallas Museum of Art. Imaj’s ultimate goal is to use her gifts to inspire world peace.
