Irving ISD – Offering More Online Courses

The Irving ISD Virtual School Program expands the extensive course offerings and provides an additional instructional setting for IISD students. The Virtual School courses are intended to provide students the opportunity to accelerate fulfillment of the required high school credits, not to remediate.  Students in need of remediation or credit recovery will have opportunities to enroll in blend (online/onsite) courses during summer school.

As students work through the courses at their own pace they will interact in an online environment with recognized, experienced and well-trained teachers.  The Irving ISD Virtual School is completely online and requires students to have internet and computer access outside of school.

So far 80 students have enrolled for courses.  The eight week summer school program begins on June 13.

Irving ISD currently offers six internally developed online courses:

Health

  • Webmastering
  • English IV
  • Computer Science
  • Foundations of Physical Education
  • Communications Applications
