McKinney celebrates Fourth of July with Red, White and BOOM!

McKinney celebrates the Fourth of July in a big way at Red, White and BOOM! On Wednesday, July 4, the City of McKinneybrings back the popular free community celebration of our nation’s independence, with family fun, entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. The Red, White and BOOM! event features activities acrossMcKinneyfrom Historic Downtown to Craig Ranch.

 Red, White and BOOM! kicks off July 4 with a parade in Historic Downtown McKinney, followed by a car show at 1 p.m. Families can also explore the many dining and shopping options that historic downtown McKinney has to offer.

 In the evening, festivities resume at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch and include live music, food, kids’ activities and a fireworks display to round out the traditional Independence Day celebration. Jon Christopher Davis & Lone Star Attitude will be on stage to provide live entertainment.  WRR will provide ‘Sounds of America’ on a live simulcast during the fireworks on Classical 101.1. 

 “This annual event is a quickly becoming an Independence Day tradition for the city,” said Parks, Recreation and Open Space Superintendent Ryan Mullins. “We hope everyone will celebrate with us and enjoy music, food, family fun and a great fireworks show.”

Historic Downtown McKinney

  • Hometown Parade –10 a.m.
  • Sidewalk Sales – 10 a.m.
  • Car Show – 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

 McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch, 6375 Collin McKinney Parkway

  • Family activities and food – 7 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Live entertainment – Jon Christopher Davis & Lone Star Attitude – 8 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Fireworks – 9:45 p.m.

 Red, White and BOOM! is presented by the City ofMcKinneyand Craig Ranch. Sponsors for this fourth annual event include Classical WRR 101.1 and the McKinney Courier-Gazette.
