Update: Dallas fatality crash on IH-35E/Illinois Ave from 08/21/2012

Dallas Sheriff’s Vehicle Crimes Unit detectives continue to investigate the details relating to the August 21,2012 double fatality crash that occurred on S/B IH-35E between Illinois Ave and Saner Ave.

Based on their investigation, detectives have determined that two vehicles were racing one another, a 2004 Ford Mustang, driven by Fredrick Don Sibley (b/m 39-yrs-old) and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, driven by Kory Lamonte Crayton (b/m 39-yrs-old). It is believed that Sibley’s Mustang struck the victims’ vehicle so violently that it burst into flames, resulting in their deaths. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both drivers; Sibley and Crayton, for Manslaughter, and are also charging the passenger in Crayton’s car, Elmore Dismuke III (b/m 26-yrs-old) for Manslaughter, based on evidence uncovered during the investigation.

Dallas Sheriff’s Warrant Investigators, along with Vehicle Crimes Unit Detectives, arrested both Dismuke and Sibley this morning and placed them in the Dallas County Jail, where they are awaiting arraignment. Crayton has remained in jail since the crash occurred, on bonds totaling $300,000.00.

The identification of the two female victims is yet to be determined, pending DNA analysis.
