Natina Reed of girl group Blaque found dead

By Kendria Brown, NDG Intern

Natina Reed of the late 90s girl group Blaque died in a car accident over the weekend. It is unclear on the reasons why Reed was standing in a roadway in Georgia, but a hit-and-run was the end result along with the death of a beautiful superstar.

While she was crossing the street an oncoming car hit her and left the singer/rapper dead. She would have been 33 on that Sunday.

Reed was in the trio girl group Blaque with hits like 808 and Bring It All To Me. Reed and the other two members, Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears also were casted as cheerleaders in the 2000 movie Bring It On alongside Gabrielle union.

Their music was discovered and mentored by the late Lisa “Lefteye” Lopez of TLC who also died in a car accident 10 years prior.

Reed was engaged to Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound at one point in time and they had a son together, Tren Brown, who is 10. Reed is being remembered by everyone, and Kurupt exclaimed, “Myself and Tren, Natina’s son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time. This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did.”

Police are investigating this accident and ask for anyone with any details on the driver or as to why she was there to come forth. The driver is not said to be at fault.
