Breast cancer survivor KoCo Powell, 38, flashes a smile while running the 30th Komen Dallas Race at NorthPark Center on Oct. 20. Powell has become a strong advocate for Komen Dallas County, which paid for the mammogram that found Powell’s breast cancer last year. Since then, the local Komen affiliate also has helped with her ongoing treatment and her rent.

The Dallas Cowboys Drumline leads a sea of pink during the emotional Survivors March to conclude the 2012 Komen Dallas Race for the Cure at NorthPark Center. Nearly 22,000 Komen Dallas County supporters came out to celebrate Dallas’ 30th annual Race on Oct. 20.
