Conversations with the King continues

Reading fan mailThe Fort Worth Museum of Science and History hosts Conversations with the Experts this June for the Elvis fanatic in us all as historians, curators, artists and entertainers help to discover how the King forever changed our cultural landscape.

Conversations with the Experts continues Saturday June 15 with ‘Art Elvis: Painting on Velvet’ from 2-3pm in the Museum’s Oak Room. Join Artist Benito Huerta, Director and Curator for The Gallery at UTA, as he explores how the Elvis velvet painting tradition took root and thrived in the US.

Then historian Todd Kerstetter takes center stage for our next conversation ‘History Elvis: A Nation All Shook Up’ Sunday June 16 from 2-3pm in the Museum’s Oak Room. Kerstetter will lead a lively discussion of Elvis’ life and music and how they reflected social and cultural revolutions sweeping the nation in the 1950s.

Conversations with the Experts are included with exhibit admission. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
