Perry’s never ending session

tdp logoAUSTIN, TEXAS – Moments after Rick Perry called the legislature back for a 3rd costly special session. Will Hailer, Executive Director of the Texas Democratic Party, issued the following statement:

“It is absurd to make the people of Texas pay for another month of steaks and cocktails for Republican lawmakers who refuse to govern. Tea Party Republicans have again obstructed our legislative process, while also obstructing our ability to drive on good roads.

Even when Republicans hold the Governor’s Office and majorities in the House and Senate, they still can’t even work among themselves to get a transportation bill passed. Texans are watching and deserve better than this. The consequence for their inaction will be the 2014 election.”
