“Corazon de Mexico” by Mexico 2000 Ballet Folklorico

image003Garland, Texas – For lovers of fine Ballet Folklórico dancing, the performance entitled “Corazón de México” will definitely touch your heart strings. In fact, “corazón” means heart in Spanish and is the perfect word to describe a show that draws on music and dance that is the essence of Mexican culture. Presented by México 2000 Ballet Folklorico the colorful spectacular will showcase both indigenous and folkloric dance traditions. Add a full mariachi band to this artistic banquet as well as a talented musical ensemble playing a variety of popular rhythms, the result is a lively and passionate rendition of Mexican heritage, both past and present. México 2000 Ballet Folklórico’s performance is a whirlwind artistic tour through that country’s distinct and numerous cultural regions: Tabasco, Guerrero, Nayarit, Veracruz, Michoacán and Jalisco. Also highlighted in the program is a special pre-Hispanic Mayan work that incorporates ancient rituals into contemporary choreography. A lively and passionate rendition of Mexican heritage -both past and present- “Corazón de México” show is a knock-out attraction that showcases pieces for which México 2000 Ballet Folklórico company and children groups had garnered awards in folk dance competitions.
