Summer break officially came to a close as schools across the state re-opened their doors Monday, Aug. 26.

Garland ISD welcomed approximately 58,000 students back to 71 campuses on “First Day 2013.” Ready for the new school year, district employees look forward to preparing students for success.

“As I begin my first-ever First Day in this district, I have no doubt our students and families are in great hands—the same hands that have welcomed and accepted me throughout the past six months,” said GISD Superintendent Bob Morrison. “I wish everyone a great start to 2013-14 and look forward to what the year will bring.”
