PLANO – The National Day of Prayer observance on May 2 was just the beginning of this year’s efforts for the National Day of Prayer Team to engage, encourage, and equip millions in prayer.
The Pray for America Rally Tour, commissioned by the National Day of Prayer Task Force, began a 23,000 mile, 300-city, 100-day, 37-state tour on May 31 in Pittsburgh, PA. Aboard a specially decorated tour bus, the team, mostly made up of executive staff from the national office (John Bornschein, Dion Elmore, Kathy Branzell, Lisa Crump, Rosalinda Baron, Ryan Dobson and others) is carrying this challenge (to engage, encourage and equip in prayer) from community to community, from state to state, and from coast to coast. At each stop, they are setting up tents and tables, passing out helpful resources, but most importantly, engaging people in prayer. In addition, they are meeting with governors, mayors, pastors, and churches – praying for them and promoting the need for fervent prayer in their communities.
To continue this incredible prayer pilgrimage, on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 7 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Church of Plano, 300 Chisholm Pl., in Plano. The host pastors are Pastors Sam and Gloria Fenceroy, the North Texas Regional NDP Team will host a Citywide Prayer Gathering for the “Pray For America Rally Tour.” This event is free and open to the public, and we would especially like to invite pastors, local city officials, intercessors and business leaders to join us for this time of prayer.
It is the goal of the National Day of Prayer Rally Team to reach 37 states with the hope of prayer. To learn more about the National Day of Prayer and/or this bus tour, please visit their website at http://nationaldayofprayer.org/
