Local cheerleaders planning to cheer local teachers for World Teachers Day

Send CheerOn World Teachers’ Day, the Dallas-area community is giving teachers one more reason to smile and be proud of the difference they are making in their students’ lives. As part of Send Cheer to Teachers, Cheerios partnered with leading cheerleading organization Varsity Brands to host a one hour event, free and open to the public, to celebrate educators who work tirelessly each and every day.

On Oct. 5 at Plaza Place, 1256 Main Street in Southlake, varsity instructors and affiliated cheerleaders will host a Cheer camp for area families. The camp will culminate with the performance of a one-of-a-kind cheer to show appreciation for their favorite teachers.

Cheerios, together with Box Tops for Education, are also offering a Send Cheer to Teachers sweepstakes. Now through July 17, 2014, parents can enter for a chance to win one of five prize packages for their child’s school: one grand prize made up of 100,000 Bonus Box Tops and $10,000 worth of school supplies, or one of four prize packages made up of 30,000 Bonus Box Tops and $2,000 worth of school supplies courtesy of Avery and Ziploc.
