The Urban League of Greater Dallas Young Professionals (ULGDYP) hosts their 6th Annual Leadership Development Conference – “The COMPLETE Young Professional” on Sat. Sept. 28, 2013 at the jcp headquarters on 6501 Legacy Dr. in Plano from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The annual conference brings together hundreds of diverse Dallas young professionals for training and revitalization from seasoned national and local speakers, as well as a series of workshops, book signings, and networking opportunities that empower the brightest professional, civic, and community leaders in our city.
“The Urban League of Greater Dallas Young Professionals is calling for all North Texas young professionals, college students and seasoned professionals to join us for this empowering day of career advancement advice, small business tips, personal branding fundamentals – and more,” said Candice Quarles, president for the Urban League of Greater Dallas Young Professionals. “This year has been a transformative year for our organization – with record membership numbers, financial growth, and organizational achievements. WFAA TV anchor Shon Gables is one of the guest speakers. She is the former host of Black Enterprise magazine’s nationally syndicated program Black Enterprise Business Report, at the time television’s only business news and executive lifestyle program focused entirely on African Americans, reaching 80 percent of all black households in more than 211 markets. Gables is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in economics.

This year the ULGDYP is also hosting a $500 scholarship contest for college students. They must be in registered for the conference to win, and are being judged based on their essay about what it means to be a complete professional.
