All of us know the story of the horrific bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and the brutal murder of “the four little girls”; yet few of us know anything about the girls themselves.
The play, Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963 by Christina Ham introduces us to Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley and Addie Mae Collins: shining a light on their dreams and hopes, their times with family and friends and the trials and tribulations of being young girls in the divided and violently segregationist city of Birmingham in 1963.
It is my joy to direct this, the season opener for the Booker T. Washington HSPVA Theatre Department. I invite you to join us for a wonderful evening of theatre. I especially encourage you to share this with your contacts and most especially bring your children, grandchildren, church youth groups, neices, nephews, Scout groups, Rites of Passage Groups, etc.
