Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963

4LG Try 20 (1)All of us know the story of the horrific bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and the brutal murder of “the four little girls”; yet few of us know anything about the girls themselves.

The play, Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963 by Christina Ham introduces us to Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley and Addie Mae Collins: shining a light on their dreams and hopes, their times with family and friends and the trials and tribulations of being young girls in the divided and violently segregationist city of Birmingham in 1963.

It is my joy to direct this, the season opener for the Booker T. Washington HSPVA Theatre Department. I invite you to join us for a wonderful evening of theatre. I especially encourage you to share this with your contacts and most especially bring your children, grandchildren, church youth groups, neices, nephews, Scout groups, Rites of Passage Groups, etc.

Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963 runs Oct 10-11 and 15-17 at 7pm in the Montgomery Arts Theatre (MAT) at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Magnet, 2501 Flora located in the Dallas Arts District. Tickets are $5. for Adults and $3. for Students. For more information, feel free to email me or contact the school office at 972.925.1200.
