Dallas, TX – October 29, 2013 – On the evening of October 19, the Inaugural celebration of the Beat Leukemia Concert for a Cure took place at Klyde Warren Park, sponsored and hosted by McGladrey. With hundreds of VIP guests in attendance, which included a diverse mix of business leaders, individual community members and patientfamilies, it exceeded all goals and expectations. Through sponsorships, donations and ticket sales, over $104,000 in net revenue was raised to benefit Leukemia Texas programs and services. This incredible outpouring of support reveals the unwavering efforts of Tiffaney Dale Hunter, Event Chair, the Concert Committee, Board members, and staff who promote the organization’s work throughout the state of Texas.
“Leukemia Texas has an important mission for patients in our state going through treatment and for future patients who will benefit from the research it supports,” said Dr. Barry Fortner, President of ION Solutions with AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group. “The success of this inaugural event bodes well for the future of the organization and the patients it is dedicated to helping.”
Throughout the evening, Mr. Kelcy Warren was recognized as Honorary Chair for his dedication and leadership in building and strengthening our community and making it a better place for so many local and national organizations, including Leukemia Texas. Leukemia Texas was equally proud to honor all sponsors including; Presenting Sponsor, McGladrey, Amerisource Bergen Specialty Group, Kelcy L. VIP guests were entertained in a private lounge displayed with string lights, select seating, an open bar, and delicious passed hors d’oeuvres catered by Savor. Emmy award winner, Hilary Kennedy and Dallas’ favorite band, The Good Question Band, provided entertainment for all attendees.
