DMX back on the hook for child support and debts after bankruptcy is thrown out

dmxDMX, the father of 10 children, now must face his creditors and baby mamas, after a New York bankruptcy judge through out his request for protection. Earl Simmons, DMX’s legal name, owes an estimated $1.3 million in back child support according to published reports.

The Chapter 11 filing was an effort to reorganize his affairs enough to allow him to began an international tour where he could raise enough money to clear up his mounting debts. In July, his publicist

“DMX’s financial strains have been inhibiting his career for several years. Poor financial management by prior representation have caused him to be ineligible to retain a passport. The purpose of this bankruptcy filing is for reorganization so he can perform for his fans oversees. We are currently planning a tour in Europe and Africa for the fall of 2013.”
