PARKER – For the very first time, the iconic Southfork Ranch of TV’s Dallas series fame will present “A Southfork Christmas” on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10 p.m. this holiday season. The event, which will feature live actors, carolers, festive holiday lights and decorations, a Santa’s Village and more, begins Friday, Nov. 29 and runs through Saturday, Dec. 21. A Southfork Christmas is appropriate for all ages.
The centerpiece of the experience for visitors will be watching seven unique holiday vignettes performed by actors from The ArtCentre Theatre of Plano, Texas. Created to evoke Texas Christmas traditions through the years, the seven distinct vignettes will depict Christmas during pioneer days, on the prairie, a cowboy Christmas, the Roaring 20s, World War II, the 1950s and the present-day “Dallas”-inspired era. Jamey Jamison, executive director, The ArtCentre Theatre, collaborated with Southfork staff to create the vignettes and 25 actors will participate in the performances.
Upon arrival at Southfork, guests will gather at the gift shop before boarding the Southfork Ranch tram for a ride to the outdoor pavilions where these vignettes will be staged. The tram excursion will conclude at Southfork’s Santa’s Village, where visitors may disembark and enjoy carolers, shopping, children’s activities and holiday food and beverage refreshments for purchase. Visitors will also be able to view the Southfork Mansion, as well as have an opportunity to write holiday cards for active duty military members stationed away from their families. In addition, U.S. Marines will be on hand to collect toys for Toys 4 Tots and children will be able to write and mail letters to Santa.
Tickets for A Southfork Christmas are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors, $7 for children (ages 5-12) and free for children 4 and under. Reservations are recommended and may be made online at www.southfork.com or by calling (972) 442-7800. Guests who bring an unwrapped toy will receive a free pass for a future tour of Southfork Ranch.
