On January 1, 2014 600 new rules became law in Texas. Below are a few highlights.
- A social security number is no longer required when applying for a concealed handgun license in Texas?Also, less classroom instruction hours are required.
- Service animals assisting veterans with post traumatic stress will get access to the same public settings as dogs who assist the blind.
- Must be 18 years old or older to use indoor tanning beds.
- An 8.25% tax will be added to mixed drinks. Previously the restaurant owners paid the tax for liquor, now the customer will. Wine and beer was already taxed.
