LBJ expected to reopen shortly following early morning fatal crash

traffic alertLBJ Freeway is still shutdown causing major backups for Monday morning commuters. This is the result of a deadly crash involving a car traveling at an estimated 100 mph around 3 a.m. Reportedly the pick-up was on the ramp from Greenville Avenue onto westbound I-635, then the driver lost control. The truck rolled down, hit a concrete wall before landing on the LBJ. A man and woman were ejected from the truck. The woman was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition, but the male victim was declared dead on the scene.

Commuters found their path blocked at westbound on LBJ 635 and North Central 75. The back-up stretches past Garland reportedly. Drivers found the freeway at Greenville Ave. closed, but it is expected to reopen soon.
