Lanes closed on Preston Rd. as Atmos repairs gas leak in Frisco

Update at 12:30 p.m.: A natural gas main leak at 5245 Preston Road has been stopped. The 6-inch line was damaged by a construction crew, and two lanes of traffic on Preston Road were closed as a safety precaution. The lanes will remain closed until later this afternoon, while Atmos Energy makes the final repairs to the line. 

FRISCO – Frisco Fire Department is on the scene of a gas leak at 5245 Preston Road, which was reported at 9:05 a.m. A repair crew from Atmos Energy is making repairs. The 6 inch gas main was damaged by a construction crew.

Two lanes of traffic on Preston Road, north of Lebanon, have been closed to traffic. A hazardous material unit is on the scene. There have been no evacuations of neighboring residences or businesses at this time. We will post more information as it becomes available.
