Krispy Kreme’s 45 Campaign raises money for ill children

gI_143458_Drivefor45For six consecutive years, fans of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee have helped to provide life-changing summer camping experiences for children with chronic or serious illnesses through donations to the Krispy Kreme Drive for 45 Campaign. Benefiting the Victory Junction Camp in Randleman, NC, the 45-day philanthropic effort runs April 5 through May 19 at participating Krispy Kreme US locations. Visit Krispy Kreme.com for participating locations and program details.

“Each year, chronically ill children from across the country come to Victory Junction to laugh and play and forget about being sick for a while,” said Lafeea Watson, PR and Media Manager, Krispy Kreme. “That’s why Krispy Kreme is proud to team up with Kyle Petty and Victory Junction for our annual Drive for 45 Campaign. Please join us in making a difference in the lives of hundreds of children by making a donation at your nearest participating Krispy Kreme location.”

“Not only does Krispy Kreme offer its customers an opportunity to donate to Victory Junction, the company encourages volunteerism, and takes time to educate its employees and consumers about camp and the children we serve,” explains Kyle Petty, Victory Junction Co-Founder. “Our long-time partnership with Krispy Kreme has allowed over 700 children to reach beyond their illness.”

Here are a few easy ways to donate to the Krispy Kreme Drive for 45 Campaign, April 5 through May 19, at a participating Krispy Kreme location near you.

Founded and operated by Kyle and Pattie Petty in Randleman, North Carolina, the Victory Junction camp is a non-profit organization that enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing fun, unique and life-changing camping experiences in a safe and medically-sound environment. The number 45 is a tribute to their son Adam Petty, former NASCAR #45 car driver who lost his life during a tragic racing accident in 2000.
