Dallas MLK Center hosting Juneteenth Festival on Thursday

juneteenthVisitors are invited to enjoy Dallas’ annual Juneteenth event, a fun-filled family festival from
noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, June 19 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, located at
2922 MLK Jr. Blvd. This free event will feature vendors, games, food, live music from local
artists, and live radio broadcasts.

“This is an important event that brings the Dallas community together to commemorate this
important moment in our nation’s history,” said Patrick N. Jackson, MLK Jr. Community Center
Manager. Juneteenth marks the anniversary of when Texas slaves learned they had been
emancipated back in 1865.

When: Thursday, June 19 from Noon to 5 p.m.

Where: The Martin Luther King Community Center, located at 2922 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard
