Irving parents have an opportunity to ask Robert Sanborn, Ed.D. questions they have regarding the recent low ranking of Irving ISD in the 2014 Texas Public Schools Rankings Report. He is the keynote speaker at a lunch hosted at Bear Creek Community Church on Friday, June 27 at 11 a.m.
Dr. Sanborn is the President and CEO of Children at Risk and co-author of the report. On the report released last month, for the 2014 North Texas School District Rankings Irving ISD ranked fourth from last. On the 2014 North Texas Large School District Rankings (districts with over 30,000 students) Frisco edged out Plano for the number one slot, and Irving ranked last with a grade rating of a D.
The event is scheduled to be held at Bear Creek Community Church’s Fellowship Hall, where Irving City Councilman Dennis Webb, re-elected for a second term in May, serves as Pastor. The hosts are
The Education Coalition of Irving, The Black Pastors Association, and the United States Mexico Cultural and Educational Foundation
Guests are encouraged to RSVP to Anthony Bond so they can ensure they have enough seating and food. Bond can be reached at 214-830-6719.
