The community is invited to attend the celebration of Nelson Mandela International Day, in Dallas. The organizers are hopeful people throughout the Metroplex will be inspired to do good works for others. This year’s celebration will be held at St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church on Friday, July 18th,  from 6 -8 p.m.

This commemorative day of service is held each year on July 18 as an annual call to action to people everywhere to contribute to the global movement for good by affecting change within their communities. Volunteers across North Texas are being asked to provide 67 minutes of public service in honor of the 67 years Nelson Mandela devoted his life to the service of humanity; as a human rights lawyer, a prisoner of conscience, an international peacemaker and the first democratically elected president of a free South Africa.
