The annual Downtown Plano Festival will take place this Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM in downtown Plano. The day-long event is a kaleidoscope of delicious food, family fun, and musical entertainment, all benefiting great causes: the North Texas Food Bank and the Historic Downtown Plano Association. Festival visitors can enjoy the offerings from some of Plano’s most exquisite eateries, including Amazeball Cakeballs, Angela’s at the Crosswalk, Brix Bar and Grill, Cajun Tailgators, Dalat Viet Cuisine, Jorg’s Cafe Vienna, Kona Ice, Raising Cane’s, Urban Crust, Urban Rio Cantina and Grill, and Ye Old Butcher Shop.
The third annual This Side Up! Family Center Great Pumpkin Race features real pumpkins decorated and crafted with wheels and powered by gravity.
Headlining the musical entertainment at Downtown Plano Festival is Jonathan Tyler and Northern Lights. Also in concert this year are Brave Combo, Chet Stevens, Tony Ramey, and Moonlight Native.
The free Raising Cane’s Festival Kids Zone features an inflatable funhouse and plenty of games for young fun seekers. In addition, kids can participate at the Texas Legends inflatable basketball shoot and meet the team mascot, Dunker.
Festival goers are encouraged to put together a team of 12 to compete in the ultimate tug of war challenge – moving a 55,000 pound fire truck! Prizes will be awarded for the fastest team pull and most money raised with proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Texas.
The Kroger Wine Garden, located in McCall Plaza, will feature wine tastings at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. during the Festival.
Festival goers are encouraged to bring canned goods and other shelf stable food to donate at one of the three entrances to the Festival. Donations support the families in need in Collin County and Plano. Each guest who donates at these designated drop-off locations at the Festival will receive a complimentary raffle ticket.
