Marissa Alexander’s plea deal puts her in jail for Christmas

No word on when Marissa Alexander will have to return to jail to serve her final two months.

Marissa Alexander has chosen to accept a plea deal instead of facing decades behind bars for firing a gun in the direction of her estranged husband and sons.

On Monday Alexander agreed to a deal that sentences her to three years in jail, but gives her credit for the 1,030 days already served.

Once the time already served is subtracted, Alexander will only have a little over two months to serve. She should be released on January 27th.
