Ben Powers best known for Good Times passes at 64

ben powersBen Powers, best known for his role on Good Times, died at age 64 on April 6 in New Bedford Mass. When you are facing 50 it seems more and more often you begin to read headlines filled with the passing of actors and singers from your childhood shows.

He joined the show in it’s sixth and final season playing Thelma’s injured football player husband always looking for a way to get back in the game and strain his transition to the “real world” put on their young marriage.

The cuase of death was not disclosed but he is survived by his mother and two sisters and other relatives and friends. Sympathies to his family and friends who remembered and loved Ben Powers long after we forgot.
