Diane Ragsdale slated to be honored on Sept. 26

Diane Ragsdale, former Dallas City Councilwoman and visionary leader of ICDC- Innercity Community Development Corporation, will be honored for her many years of community activism, leadership and service on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 12 noon, at TBAAL –  The Black Academy of Arts and Letters.  Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going to ICDC, a community based non-profit serving the South Dallas/Fair Park community.

For nearly 30 years ICDC has been “Building Lives and Revitalizing Neighborhoods” through its Affordable Home Ownership, Business Incubator and Community Education programs.  Rev. Frederick Douglas Haynes, III, Rev. Zan Wesley Holmes, Jr. and the Kirkwood Temple CME Church will lead tributes from the community.

Musical guests will include the famed SNCC Freedom Singers, Texas College Concert Choir, the Lincoln Alumni Concert Choir and TBAAL’S Young, Gifted and Black Artists.
