Charitable planning expert Chris Hoyt will present an educational seminar for professionals in the legal, tax, investment and financial planning disciplines on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016.

Presented by The Dallas Foundation, the seminar “Retirement Accounts: Planning Optimal Outcomes for Family and Charitable Objectives,” will be 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Dallas Country Club, 4155 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas. Bank of Texas is the event’s lead sponsor. Tickets are $75 per person. Table sponsorships are available.

Hoyt’s presentation will examine the overall tax environment for 2016, the complications of naming a trust as a retirement account beneficiary, and planning strategies for retirement accounts in second marriages. The presentation is aimed to benefit attorneys, accountants and other professional advisors who serve high-net-worth families.

“Chris Hoyt is a thought leader in the field of retirement accounts and charitable planning,” said Gary Garcia, senior director of development of The Dallas Foundation. “We expect advisors will find this seminar extremely useful for helping their clients identify the charitable giving options which best fit their needs.”

Hoyt is a professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He uses his previous experience in private practice to teach courses in the areas of retirement plans, federal taxation, business organizations and tax-exempt organizations. Hoyt is an inductee of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils Estate Planning Hall of Fame. He serves on the editorial board of Trusts and Estates magazine and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and MONEY magazine.
