The beginning of the school is year just around the corner, but dorm decorations and buying books aren’t the only things parents and students should be thinking about. To make sure your college students are heading back to school in good health, it’s important to also check things off the back-to-college health checklist.
Sam’s Club pharmacists can provide information on the following so that both parents and students kick-off the new school year on the right foot.
o Vision and hearing tests: Impaired vision or hearing can adversely affect learning
o Sleep patterns: A good night’s sleep is important and it’s recommended college students get 8 hours of sleep each night. Between exams, papers, and an active social life, some students aren’t getting enough sleep. We have tips that’ll help students manage their work load and get enough rest.
o A healthy diet: More than 40 percent of girls and 32 percent of boys skip breakfast on a regular basis, which can affect their overall performance at school.
Plus, to help parents, teachers and students keep their healthy momentum throughout the school year, Sam’s Club will be offering a FREE health screening this Saturday, Aug. 13. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The screenings are free for both members and non-members and will include the following tests:
