Norma’s Cafe diners sign 5,000 postcards for soldiers

Being away from home for the holidays is very hard for soldiers and their families. Locally, residents want members of the military to know their sacrifice is appreciated.

For more than a month Norma’s Cafe guests have created and signed 5,000 postcards to send nonprofit America’s Adopt A Soldier during their 9th Annual Post Cards for the Troops drive. The organization encourages individuals and local groups to help keep the needs of the service members visible to the public to help the service members, veterans, and their families.

The goal is to ensure every deployed service member, a veteran in a VA hospital or home receives a postcard.

Since Veteran’s Day last month, all five Norma’s Cafe locations including Oak Cliff, Plano, Frisco, and Dallas (Park Lane & North Dallas) have invited people to stop by and write a positive note to a serviceman or woman to help spread holiday cheer. Norma’s is mailing all cards to ensure delivery by Christmas.
