This weekend Southern Dallas entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to convince producers they have a winning idea when ABC’s popular Shark Tank arrives in DeSoto seeking participants.
Values Partnerships, the City of DeSoto and the DeSoto Economic Development Corporation will host a casting call for ABC’s Shark Tank on Jan. 26 at the Grow DeSoto Market Place in DeSoto. The event is the kickoff to a nationwide casting tour organized by Values Partnerships; designed to support diverse entrepreneurs and bring new ideas and voices to the show. At the event, casting producers from ABC’s Shark Tank will hear pitches from local entrepreneurs vying to pitch on Season 12 of the hit show.
“There is no location where the entrepreneurial spirit burns any more brightly than the Grow DeSoto Market Place, so it is the perfect venue for Shark Tank to seek out diverse new talent,” stated Curtistene S. McCowan, Mayor of the City of DeSoto. “Grow DeSoto was created as a small business incubator to encourage new merchants to be innovative while learning the basics of how to make their ventures succeed.”
In addition to casting for the show, pitch preparation, entrepreneurship resources, and access to capital discussions will be provided for entrepreneurs who attend.
“We are excited to launch our Season 12 casting tour at the Grow DeSoto Market Place, said Brandon Andrews, Senior Consultant Values Partnerships. “Producer Mark Burnett and the Sharks want to hear pitches from passionate entrepreneurs representing every community, culture, and gender. We know DeSoto and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area will deliver! Entrepreneurs with spark and grit are everywhere; we just want to give them a chance to shine!
If selected for Season 12 of ABC’s Shark Tank, entrepreneurs will fly to Los Angeles, CA to pitch to the Sharks! Season 12 will premiere fall 2020.
A diverse group of entrepreneurs are expected to pitch at the event supported by the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce, Options Real Estate, and The Industry Hub.
Following the Dallas event, casting calls are planned in local communities across the nation.
